NREGEN is the idea of creating regenerative, nature-integrated housing communities. NREGEN (Nordic Regenerative Real Estate) is the idea of investing in land and building communities that reflect a holistic understanding of the relationship between humans and nature in a Nordic environment. We support revolutionary initiatives within personal, spiritual and social areas relating to evolving the people who live, work, or engage with NREGEN.

A peaceful place surrounded by wildlife along the Scandinavian coastline, connecting the elements earth, water, fire and air. Our developments are more than just housing. They create the framework for a cosmic space with room for existential considerations and the exchange of revolutionary thoughts and ideas — especially regarding securing a living and loving planet for our descendants. In short, making the world a better place.

As the current debate around green adjustment, welfare and sustainability unfolds, Scandinavia is often viewed as a role model. But when talking sustainability, it takes much more than biofuel and garbage sorting. The truth is we are probably harvesting more recognition than we deserve. It is no longer enough to simply sustain the planet — that battle is already lost, and Earth is suffering deeply, as reported by the UN’s climate panel, the IPCC.

The word regenerative is now leading as the adequate approach to the interrelation between humans and nature, connoting regrowth and healing. Yet it is not only the planet that needs healing — so do we.

There is a holistic understanding behind this word regenerative concerning the relation between fauna and flora. Even though it seems obvious that the living terms of our species have always been directly related to the way we treat the planet — and this is more obvious than ever — we are somehow completely alienated from our origin.

For more than two hundred thousand years humans have lived and evolved as hunter-gatherers, one with nature. But less than twelve thousand years ago — just a blink in human history — we had an agricultural revolution. We learned how to bend nature to our will, growing on our terms. From here arose the idea that we could own the soil beneath our feet, treating it as we saw fit.

For many years it was inconsequential, but not anymore. Wildfires, floods, droughts and pandemics are clear proofs of that. If we keep our eyes shut to these facts, then things like COVID-19 will become everyday problems for our children, and elephants just another legend like dinosaurs. Maybe even us?

If you want to reconnect to your roots where we coexisted with respect for animals, plants and ourselves, you have to experience this firsthand. To feel what it means to be one with nature. Melt into your surroundings in the forest until only the sound of raindrops on leaves remains.

The NREGEN experience will give this connection through regenerative housing — warm, dry, thoughtfully built with care, enjoying locally grown food and leaning into the warm embrace of Mother Earth.

But that experience is difficult to give people living in noisy, polluted and stressful big cities made of steel and concrete. A walk in the park with your dog and latte won’t deliver the same encounter with nature as fully organic, regenerative housing developments surrounded by wildlife, bursting with life and biodiversity.

We offer places where the raw and pure forces of nature are so overwhelming you are forced to let go and surrender to the source of that energy. To let go of fear, stress, sadness and anxiety and instead begin refilled with deep serenity.
